I am population geneticist interested in applying computational tools and genomic techniques to understand how genetic variation is maintained and shaped across spatial
and temporal scales, from molecular (cellular) to population level. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Biotechnology in 2005 I moved to Mammal Research Institute PAS in Bialowieza where I have been involved in National Wolf Census in Poland (2006-2010) and I was a project leader of the study that investigated an association between environmental variables and adaptive genetic variation of European wolves using genome-wide SNP markers (2009-2014). Concurrently, I conducted PhD research on landscape genetics of yellow necked mouse population in NE Poland and I received PhD degree in biology from University of Warsaw in 2016. Following my growing interest in bioinformatics I moved to NGS sequencing facility (Bionanopark, Lodz) and at the same time I carried out two-semester Postgraduate studies in Data Engineering – Data Science at Gdańsk University of Technology. In February 2017 I joined the Laboratory of RNA Biology and Functional Genomics at Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysic PAS in Warsaw for a two year post-doc.

Currently I am a Postdoctoral researcher in the Wild Urban Evolution and Ecology Lab
at University of Warsaw where I will apply landscape genomics approach to investigate how urban heterogeneity influences patterns of genetic variation in replicated sampling across multiple cities countrywide.
